Zero Burning & Composting Initiative

Zero Burning & Composting Initiative

Zero burning is the practice of felling and shredding old oil palm trees and leaving the shredded materials to decompose naturally. This approach is better than the traditional slash and burn technique as it improves soil quality, allows for immediate replanting of trees and is not dependent on weather conditions. This will also reduce associated carbon emissions and mitigates the risk of uncontrolled forest fires.
